The SE22 Piano School has been successfully preparing young musicians for the Music Scholarship audition process to local schools in Southwark and Lewisham for nearly a decade. We have designed test materials that are available for download and are used by students across the UK that are sitting the Music Aptitude Test for secondary school admissions.
What is the Music Aptitude Test? This is a question many parents are typing into Google at the moment, trying to find as much information about the upcoming tests for Music Scholarship entry to state secondary schools in our local area such as Haberdashers (Habs), Prendergast and Kingsdale. Many other schools across the UK use these tests: Ashmole Academy, Coopers Coborn, Dame Alice Owen, many of the schools in the large SW Herts Consortium, Cardinal Vaughan and more. We are constantly updating our list of schools using the test as it becomes a more popular addition to the Secondary School admissions process.
Our seminars will talk you through the two-stage audition process including what kind of tests you will hear at the multiple choice Round One, through to recommended repertoire and prepping for questions you will be asked at Round Two. I have lots of great tips to help you create a memorable and confident audition.
Please note the seminar does not include 1-on-1 training. The seminars are for parents to find out more about the audition process. Children are not required to attend but if you would like to bring them, do ensure that you have booked a ticket for them too. Attendees receive a £10 discount on the downloads of the Music Aptitude Test training materials using the code supplied at the workshop.
The test covers the different types of Music Aptitude Tests such as the basic 4-part one through to the 6 or 7 part tests used by schools such as Ashmole Academy.
