We are now preparing Year 5 students for September 2021 secondary school admissions on Music Scholarship places. We recommend booking a consultation lesson of 1 hour with our teacher who will make an assessment of your readiness for the scholarship and then advise accordingly on how many lessons will be required to prepare you for the auditions that usually take place in the Autumn term (September 2020 onwards, although many schools hold the auditions earlier).
I am available on selected dates in June to August 2021 in East Dulwich to prepare young musicians for the upcoming state secondary music scholarship assessments. We can either work on the general music audition for schools such as Kingsdale or the multiple choice Music Aptitude Test for schools such as Prendergast and Habs. For the latter, you will have completed at least 2 of the Music Aptitude Tests before attending this session. If you have not completed any multiple choice tests, please book a session with Mirna instead and she will take you through the basics of the MAT.
Do bring along two well-prepared pieces for instrument or voice to perform. If there is a backing track, please have the sound file available on your phone to play on the day. Alternatively you can bring the sheet music accompaniment with you.
The session will be tailored to your exact needs which will be discussed at the start of the lesson. Please note that no email support is offered before or after the session so please ensure you ask all your questions during the 1 hour session. The lesson is on Zoom unless stated otherwise.
This session cannot be refunded or rescheduled if you cannot attend for any reason.
It’s a new school year and we will be preparing lots of musicians for the upcoming music scholarships to schools such as Kingsdale, Habs, Prendergast and further afield across the rest of the UK. This year will be particularly interesting for me as my own daughter will be sitting music and sports scholarships to South London schools along with many of her classmates.
